'Can you cook?'

Fellas: How many times have you asked a lady whether or not she knows how to cook?

Is cooking really a deal breaker for dudes? Is it really essential in the dating game for ladies to know how to whip up a good meal?

I can't think of many times when my ability to cook has added to my dating repertoire. I know how to cook, bake, sauté, grill, fry, flambé, and boil. I actually enjoy cooking, but I really haven't cooked   as a routine for guys I've gone out with. As a matter of fact, I have chosen to not cook.

Anyone who has nibbled a morsel prepared in my kitchen will tell you my cuisine is more than edible, but I don't see it as a one up in the relationship world. Most of the guys I've dated have been super health conscious and I'm not into boiling chicken and stirring up plain brown rice.

However, I must say I am hugely attracted to guys who can work with their hands. Probably because I come from a family of traditional guys who build things, own tools and use them. There's just something special about a guy who just might be able to replace a carburetor without panicking.

A guy who can build and stain a deck would never have to even part his lips for me to get a hot plate in front of him. But in the world of dating...when do you show your skills?

As a guy, if you are lacking in the blue collar area...how do you expect a woman to provide for you in the homemaking area?

Quite a few guys who saw the meme above said it was an unfair comparison... But I don't think it is.

Granted, I have a homeboy who cares nothing about a woman being able to cook. He prefers a lady who is active, fit...and top heavy. Then I have another homeboy who would kill a pig and pray for a woman to come stir up a plate.

Honestly, it all comes down to what a person holds in high regard. If you can't even boil water...think twice about pairing up with a guy who sees it as a deal breaker...

If you like a handy man...stay away from the guys who prefer manicures to manual labor.
And gents... If you can't be bothered to get dirty building, changing oil or cutting grass...why expect a lady to get dirty rolling dough, chopping veggies or cleaning meat.
