Birthday weekend with friends, LeBron, and Cynthia Bailey

Birthday card from my sister-friend S.S.
Inside it says "You have a style all your own."

This has been one of my best birthdays. The only thing missing was getting to see my family. Though I did chat with them and make future plans. Also, my super star three-year-old niece sang "Happy Birthday" to me over the phone with the proper melody and verses! I spent my birthday with super star friends, a super star basketball player, and a super star model.

Okay so technically my birthday was last Tuesday, but I continued the celebration into the weekend. Well..actually...I celebrated virtually all week.

One thing's for certain...I was never without a meal last week...as a couple of my brother-friends and a guy friend treated me. I tried this new spot called Harry's Grill and they have THE BEST sweet potato fries!

On Saturday, my colleagues and I checked out the Bobcats vs Miami Heat game...It was dope! We had seats very close to the court as you can see! Initially LeBron did not warm up with the team and we worried he would not play.

When they announced him in the starting lineup we were pensive, but hopeful. Then he hit the court and the place erupted. The Bobcats definitely gave the Heat a good run! Ramon Sessions even posterized LBJ with a monster dunk! You can see a pic on my Instagram: instagram.com/ybbg_blog. Not to be outdone...LBJ hit 'em with two reverse dunks on consecutive plays!

The game went to OT, and the Heat pulled it off. Unfortunately,  Kemba Walker was injured after halftime, so the Bobcats had to play without him.

On Sunday, I caught a good sermon dealing with James 2: 26. Then met my gal pals for brunch at Mimosa Grill. It's funny...although I have blogged about birthdays a lot...my closest friends will tell you...typically I do nothing.

But folks kept asking me what I was going to do, so...I decided to do a ladies' brunch with SS, KA, S.Sp., AC, GW and TM. I wore a melon colored dress, gray tights, and burgundy colored pumps my mama bought  me...seriously...a style all my own LOL!

Unbeknownst to the chicas at the table...they almost all had some kind of connection...other than being cool with me...Example:

TM,  GW,  and SS all lived in or around Atlanta at some point.

SS and GW attended the same high school.

TM, GW, S.Sp., and KA are all attorneys.

SS, KA, S. Sp. and I all graduated from UNC at different times.

GW and TM are both Saints fans.

GW and AC are both Virgos.

S.Sp and AC have both lived in the Northeast.

Dope gift from my work-sister GW. #TheBoss

After brunch, I talked to my daddy (southern gal) and took a nap! Then it was on to Roc Da Runway Hair and Fashion Show hosted by model and RHOA star Cynthia Bailey and radio personality Eddie Owens. I will blog about the show on www.ybbgstyle.com tomorrow!
