Why do you stand with Porsha?

I'm an admitted reality TV junkie. I have watched Real Housewives of Atlanta since DeShawn and Lisa were in the cast. So of course I watched the RHOA Reunion last night and witnessed the Porsha vs Kenya debacle.

Today, I was on Twitter and saw a hashtag that seemed so stupid to me: #ISTANDWITHPORSHA.

Really? Why do you stand with Porsha?

These people were claiming that Porsha merely stood up to a bully when she dragged Kenya down by her hair. I call BS. Porsha lost her cool and resorted to a five-year-old's tactics.

What exactly makes Kenya a bully? She does exactly the same things that the other women on the show do. And I mean EXACTLY THE SAME. It only gets labeled bullying because people don't like Kenya for what ever reason.

Porsha is a grown woman who behaves very childishly on the show. I clearly have no earthly idea what she's like outside of the cameras...but anyway...onto my point...

The Housewives Reunions shows are like battle raps. You go in knowing that you're going to get clowned. The person who breaks and resorts to violence is the loser. The premise is to show mental toughness. This is not a tea social. You are on the show for dramatics...that's why they hired you. Having back and forth "reads" is part of the show. The other women on the couches have been through this, and so has Porsha.

Yet Porsha is the only one who has resorted to physically assaulting anyone. (Even when Lisa Wu told Kim Zolciak she would flip her over the couch, she didn't do it. LOL)

These women are hired to entertain. I don't know Kenya's real life, as it seems like she's acting on the show to me...which is smart. Reality TV destroys people's real lives... Shall we use Porsha for an example?

Here we have Porsha...a young (but not that dang young) lady married to a guy who apparently cares somewhat about her. She goes on this show and she is shown to be less than smart and then ends up losing her husband. Who supports all of her downfalls? These fools who are using the #ISTANDWITHPORSHA hashtag.

Porsha has shown and destroyed her real life on this show. She insinuated that she married a closeted gay man. She did that on her own after he dumped her. Then she got ZILCH from the divorce. She has also shown her own desperation to have a child (sheesh...she and Kenya could have bonded over this issue they both share), yet she continuously plays the role of the bullied.

I'm not buying it at all. She's at least 32 years old. Another grown woman talking trash to you, the same way you do to her, is not bullying.

Porsha called Kenya names, tried to take jabs about some fake African boyfriend being paid, and hit her about being childless. Even during the show Porsha would interrupt Kenya's discussions with other women to attempt to take potshots when Kenya ignored her. *roll back the tapes if you don't believe me*

Every person on that show has remarked that Porsha has less than enviable intelligence. Every single one. Even Phaedra. Kandi laughed hard as heck when Kenya asked Porsha to spell "scepter". Are the other ladies bullying too? On top of that...Porsha may now be unemployed with a criminal record to boot. Anyone supporting your foolishness is not your friend.

Porsha has spent more time feeding into Kenya's story line as the villain, than creating an interesting one of her own. Yet another dumb move. Who really wants to see a thirty-something woman bop around like a silly teenager? Clearly, there are a lot of dumb people in this world. Those supporting #ISTANDWITHPORSHA are proof positive of that. These people are supporting Porsha doing what they would normally claim is a shame and denigration of Black women.

So what has reality TV done for Porsha:

  • Embarrassed her-according to Porsha
  • Got her arrested
  • Caused her divorce
  • Gave her temporary employment
  • Bought her some boobs
  • Created a legion of fans who support her instability and ignorance
What has reality TV done for Kenya.
  • Increased the number of people who do not like her
  • Placed her on Celebrity Apprentice
  • Started her workout DVD business
  • Raised her public profile
  • Started budding friendships with Cynthia, Marlo and Kandi
Who's really winning here? The only people on the show who purportedly don't like Kenya are Nene, Phaedra, and Porsha.

Nene is probably a little leery of Kenya trying to pull a coup...and she probably is...that scepter had a lot behind it. She sent Nene a message with it...Kenya is making a move for Nene's position as queen of the show.

Phaedra doesn't like Kenya because her husband wants Kenya...that's obvious.

Porsha doesn't like Kenya...well...I don't really know why exactly...maybe Kenya is representative of her future?

Apollo clearly digs Kenya, a couple of the fellas are annoyed by her at times, but they seem to enjoy her company. Kandi has started to bond with Kenya on some level as has Cynthia.

I don't buy into the "Kenya is a bully" BS. I feel Porsha is too childish for her own good. No one who signs up to talk ish should put their hands on anyone...

Porsha could have learned a few things from Kenya...like...Play a role...don't let Bravo play you. Stay in character and don't allow anyone to take you out of it. Acting on these shows pays off.

And I don't know where most of these folks are from...but where I'm from...hair pulling isn't a beat down...LOL
