I 'body shamed' Prince Fielder...and I am not sorry

I'm seeing a couple of articles about the "body shaming" of Prince Fielder. I guess my Facebook post (on my personal page) was "body shaming" of Fielder and men who happen to share his waistline girth...

This whole Prince Fielder being on the cover of ESPN the body issue is just not pleasing to my eyes lol! It ain't right I tell ya! It just ain't right. I know some women like a lil chub in the tummy but maaaan couldn't he just get an inside page? LMBO- MY FACEBOOK POST

Well... I would like to say... I'm not sorry. If men can say what they find attractive and eye pleasing (and they should be able to do so without backlash) then so can I. Everybody won't like your body, smile, height, whatever... Everyone won't be attracted to me, you or any individual...that's reality...

If you put yourself out for public display...I'm sure you prepare yourself for public praise...so why not prepare yourself for public criticism?

I will admit that I'm not the "softest" woman one might know, and I have spent a number of my maturation years around "manly men", which makes me a little insensitive at times. So I've never grabbed onto this "shaming" mantra that I see rolling around the interwebs.

I never cared to see a representative of my particular body on a magazine cover...especially when I'm out of shape... Heck, I would rather see a chick who is fit to the nth degree who happens to share my body style..so that I will have a good influence... That's just me...don't I deserve a voice as well?

I know it isn't the "in thing" to root for people like Serge Ibaka to be the only body types on the cover of ESPN the Magazine's Body Issue...but dang it that's what my particular eyes like to see.  The funny thing is...there have been plenty of women who salivated over the cover of Fielder.

Granted...not every guy could ever look like Ibaka. His body type is his own. It just happens to be one of the body types I really like. So what? It also takes a lot of discipline to get a six pack especially when you have a body that is naturally thicker in the middle...which it seems that Fielder actually has... Some folks don't like a thin-waisted man...at all! And that's great. But don't get all haughty and self righteous about the ones who do.

My lack of attraction toward Fielder's body type didn't hinder other women's attractions toward it.

Which brings me back to my earlier point...there will always be someone who is attracted to you no matter how many people aren't. Fielder undoubtedly is comfortable in his own skin... Which is the point of ESPN's Body Issue. Be comfortable in your skin...no matter what!

I don't care how many people have something negative to say about your body rolls...someone wants to squeeze them. And it should be okay that other people don't want to squeeze them.

That's life. So what's the point in trying to force people into an attraction they don't have...versus giving room for many to express the attractions they do have? Heck if I cannot say how much I love a guy with a flat stomach you shouldn't be able to say how much you love a dude with chunk.

Neither guy is better than the other. Ya like what ya like.
