Basketball Wives: Evelyn vs Jennifer and YBBG Topic
The other day I asked the following question: If it came down to it, who would you choose? Your mate or your friends?
my comentary on the question
Some people had very interesting responses to the topic question. One that I found quite interesting was from a guy who asked: WHY WOULD YOU EVER HAVE TO CHOOSE?
According to him, "real" men would not interfere with your relationship. Oh lawd...here we go with that obligatory "real" label...apparently the definition for "real" is a very loose definition...
Hmmmm... here is the thing... Maybe you will never have to choose. You may have friendships and relationships where the two are never at odds... That would be great! All of the people in your circle may be very respectful and want what is best for you. (This is the way your circle should be...). However, that is not the reality for a lot of people. As with any thing, I say it is better to be proactive in handling a situation than pretending that the situation will never occur.
It does not mean you have to get rid of one or both...but you would at some point give one priority over the other. Most people in sustained relationships have had to make that decision at one point or another. Or even in new ones, when it comes to balancing time.
For a lady reader she said at the point where her mate is her HUSBAND...he wins...hands down. So based on the seriousness of your relationship... at what point does your significant other take priority over your friends?
If you watched Season 3 of Basketball Wives on VH1 you saw what happens with some folks when the friend is at odds with the mate. Clearly with Evelyn Lozada (I said Lozado in the video) it is whenever she has a man, he wins...no matter what. And apparently with Jennifer Williams, her friends win. Could there not be a happy medium?
Anyway here is the full episode from the Evelyn vs Jennifer fiasco... Yes it is "reality tv" which means some of the foolishness is real...some is not. So for the most part reality tv has replaced my soaps that I watched growing up. Pure entertainment.
And look out for next Monday's fight...and the dark skinned vs light skinned battle that is sure to ensue after Tami's comment to Meeka. I saw that coming a mile away after she said something including "your Black *s*"... oh boy...

That's part of the reason I question how tight they actually are...who would go off on a best friend in front of other women who have nothing to do with it?
