Birthday countdown: Day 20

Today we celebrate the birth of Jesus the Christ.

Hey Merry Christmas! So lets keep the birthday countdown going!

Today is Day 20

At 20 years old...

I was a second semester sophomore in college at UNC Chapel Hill on my 20th birthday. My pals threw me a surprise Winnie The Pooh themed birthday party. I was obsessed with Pooh Bear. I still have the watch and snow globe I received that year.

My roommate: My roommate was from Philly. We had mutual friends and were friendly. She invited me to her church and that's how we ended  up hanging out. We were almost polar opposites.

My crew:  I had met a lot of different people through work, school and having a social life. This is the school year that I met my future best buds. I didn't have a particular crew I rolled with at all. Sometimes I went out with the Charlotte crew. Other times it was the out of state crew. Then there was my home girl from Concord, NC and her crew... And my old roommate and her friends. Frankly...I didn't have a crew at all. I was a wanderer. LOL

I was datingYou see...this was a complicated situation. I had a boyfriend and everyone kept saying we would break up because we were long distance. He was in school a couple hours  away. Let's just say, it was spoken into existence...My boyfriend and I were in the midst or breaking up, but not breaking apart. Eventually I went back to "Superman"...

I dressed: If it wasn't WetSeal, Body Shop, Express or The Gap, I was not in it. Typical college sophomore. "Friday pants", halter tops, midriff  tops, sweaters and skirts...yep...that was my wardrobe...Oh and toss in some athletic wear...like adidas...

That's me sophomore year...the hand on the right
is my college boyfriend. His big homie is in orange
and blue.

My attitudeI was cool...tomboyish.

My Family: Now that I had my car on campus...they saw me during school breaks.

So that's a snapshot of what I was doing at 21...there's a lot more, but these will be random posts...

In present day...on my 20th day of the countdown...It is Christmas! My first "Merry Christmas"  this morning came before the sun came up. LOL... I had a great day with family. My mama cooked a fantastic meal and baked a cake that made me forget about eating right!

I was happy to help bring some smiles and Christmas cheer. We laughed and joked and shared some good times together. But since Christmas fell on a Wednesday, I have to head back to the real world tomorrow...
