Father beats down son, who called mom the B word

Picture floating around the web |
The story goes: Son gets into an argument with mom. Son calls mom a B*$^@!! And dad steps in...
Now...some people applaud the result. Son ends up looking like he was smacked in the face with a thousand pound baseball bat. There was talk that the young man had been in and out of trouble...that could be. People said he had it coming...
I, on the other hand, have a somewhat different perspective...
I don't know if this late in the game beat down will actually cause him to not be in trouble... What gave rise to him being bold enough to step out of his body, mind, and soul to curse at his own mama? These are the questions I have. Now if mama goes around cussing him out and carrying on like a fool...then hey...she brought the B word on herself (I know this is an unpopular response...but whatever...)
Parenting comes with a heavy burden. You have to train a child up in the way he or she should go if you expect him/her to at least have some bit of sense.
Then you can do all you can and end up with a disrespectful foolish child. There are some folks who bring up children with the parenting skills of a sci-fi monster and expect the kids to be little angels.
I don't know what happened here. But I don't know how I feel about beating a child silly. Who knows though...if he raised up on his father...then got shut down...oh well...He just got his man training.
But if this youngin wasn't raised or trained at all, had brutes and bullies for parents, then...why try to correct him now?
Apparently this does not just happen in homes of "color"... I found this online:

My dad whipped my ass for calling my mom a bitch. Parents aren't really like that now though?
I got into it with my mom over my cell getting taken away about three years back. I think I called her a bitch or something like that. She was really hurt by it and cried. When my dad found out about what I said and making her cry, he went off on me like an atom bomb. He demanded I hand over the phone, which he snapped in half right in front of me. But the worst part was he tried to knock the disrespect right out of me! I don't think I have ever feared my dad as much as I did that day. He told me if I ever talked to my mother or any female like that again, that I would need 911 on speed dial. I will say that I have never called any other women a bitch or even cussed one out since then. I'm 20 now and still fear disrespecting my parents, I know my dad would still knock me on my ass if I did. Why don't parents demand respect now a day?

Your father is a wonderful man.
I mean, I'm sorry you got beat up... but he's done such a favour to womankind! Sometimes it takes things like that to teach someone a lesson, and you clearly learned the lesson well. I think parents are too slack on their kids nowadays... I think in a lot of cases parents are AFRAID of their children, as terrible as that sounds. Good for your dad, I wish more people recognized the importance of respect.

To just be fundamental about this........hey, YOU raised the kid....
Parents constantly blame the schools, peers, the media etc. for all the problems they experience with their kids...parents need to adapt their parenting strategies.....yes, that's right people......strategies. ....you know, like the ones you should be using to constantly facilitate the building of their character, intellect and talents? Almost all parents who sit back passively and let the world raise their children suffer from the lack of their efforts......not to mention the kid. Raise your bar.
