Jarell Brooks, a hero who stepped up when a coward ran away
From ABCNews:
Patricia Legarreta was the lady with the four month old baby... but get this... her fiance, Jamie Rohrs, was in the theater with her, holding the baby, and this COWARD, put the baby down, left Patricia and the two children in the theater, ran to his car, and left! I mean he left his children and their mother in the theater and ran away... Then the bastard had the nerve to propose to her. And she was dumb enough to say yes. Check out what this one poster said in the comments on the article:A Colorado teenager who survived the mass shooting at a midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora this morning helped keep a young mother, her young child and her 4-month-old infant safe even though he was injured himself.Jarell Brooks, 19, has been released from Denver General Hospital and is now recovering at home after he suffered a gunshot wound to the leg after James Holmes, once a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Colorado, allegedly set off smoke bombs and opened fire on the unsuspecting audience, killing 12 people and injuring at least 50 in the attack. He was quickly apprehended by authorities.
The fiancé spoke on CNN last night and I am quoting his responses, ""I'm trying to keep him low. ... And he's crying," Rohrs said. "People are running all over. I'm tripping and falling. I don't know if I laid him down or sat him down. I'm wondering maybe there's more of them. [I'm thinking] 'He's crying and they're going to come get me." Not only did he abandon his family in the theater to save himself, he actually left the theater lot in his car. Again he stated ".... called him from another phone and he drove back to the theater."
So Jamie Rohrs left his woman and children to die, a 19 year old kid gets wounded while saving them. Jarell Brooks was on his way to safety; he did not even have to turn around to help Ms. Legarreta. If you don't believe what the comment poster said...here is what Jamie Rohrs said, from Huffington Post:
Rohrs said he lost his 4-month-old son, Ethan, in the darkness and chaos of the theater, but got out himself. Then, once outside, he could not initially find Legarreta.
"I got to my truck and I drove across the mall," Rohrs added. "I'm going to call 911 and trying to call Patricia and it's just ringing, and every time it rings I'm like they're dead, they're dead, your whole family is dead."

What do you think of this??? Could you marry a man who left you and your children to die?
Former NBA Baller Isaiah Rider and his wife started a campaign to assist Jarell Brooks.
You can show some appreciation to Jarell in this campaign to assist him as he takes time off work to recover from his injuries. http://www.indiegogo.com/jarellthehero

Rohrs owes Jarell big time, he saved his fiancee, but I don't think it's right to call anyone a coward in this situation.
I cannot say I would have done what Jarell did and saved a stranger. I can say with all my heart that I would protect my family. Had he run out with baby in his arms, I wouldn't have called him a coward.
The act of putting your child down, running away from the scene, jumping in your vehicle and leaving without your family...says coward to me.
I was on a date once, at a movie theater when shots rang out. My date pulled me down and covered me with his body. It was our first date. If he could do that for me, I'd imagine anyone would protect their own children.
Also, to be honest, this mother is not only being unwise she is also showing her selfishness as well. By accepting his proposal and accepting his actions...she is saying that she values his presence more than she values her children's safety. The baby could've been killed-both of her children could've been killed because of his neglect. If I knew that my mother chose him to be my "father" and "protector", I would realize that she too does not care to protect me as well.
