Should women propose to men?

So the chick in the picture is the star of VH1's new reality show Love and Hip Hop.  I think it was supposed to be called Jim and the Family Jones, but it was redone to include other hip-hop couples.

If you saw the season premiere, you already know what it is...Yep...and of course you'll tune in to see much much more of it...lol

Anywhooo...On one of the upcoming shows (not sure if it aired already), Chrissy gets down on one knee and proposes to Jim Jones (you know dude who made that one song...and then did a remix and I don't think much more...who knows...)

Now..y'all know me.  I believe in equality in relationships.  I believe women should be bold in getting who they want and what they want.  But screeeeeeeeechhhhh...slow down...smooth pump them brakes and tell me...

Why would you propose to a man?  Is that kosher?  I mean I'm in the South, so you know we do things a bit differently down here...Like a man goes gets a ring (optimally one with a nice sized stone in a nice setting...after saving his pennies and paying it off...errrr ummm...never mind LOL but you know) and he sets up a romantic evening at The Ritz and orders 1,000 roses and escorts you around a million rooms picking up flowers and gifts and seeing friends and family, then you get to that one special room and there is the hope diamond waiting to adorn your finger and weigh down your left hand.  (Oh, you probably think I'm making the Ritz thing up? oh contrare! Look at this video Remember the Ritz!)

LOL.  So that leads to this..is this how y'all do up North? LOL...kidding kidding. Really though, do you think it's alright for a woman to propose?  Fellas would you want your woman to do so?  Ladies, would you do it?
