SWV and Jon B hit Charlotte for Speed Street

U

The Coca-Cola 600 race is on Sunday. Each year in preparation for the race, there is a three day festival in Uptown Charlotte. NASCAR stars come out to greet fans and sign autographs, and performers hit the stage. This year R&B musicians from the 90s will kick the festivities off.

I know you're wondering what R&B has to do with NASCAR. Well..music is universal. And NASCAR has put forth a lot of effort to increase diversity.

Darrell Wallace Jr is currently in the NASCAR development program for minorities.

Tia Norfleet is the daughter of a former NASCAR truck series racer. There was controversy surrounding her own claims of being a NASCAR driver.

Anyway...I am thinking about heading down to Speed Street...though I feel a nap overcoming me.

UPDATE- I WENT TO THE EVENT

JON B

Jon B (@OfficialJonB) hit the stage looking brand new. He was sharp in a black and white striped shirt, black jacket with a nice red, black and white pocket square.  Jon B had a nice fade in beard and cool haircut. But one spectator wasn't feeling the look. She said she missed the Black Jon B... Y'all know the one...low cut caesar with the deep waves. LOL

I think Jon B feels some kinda way about Robin Thicke and Justin Timberlake stealing his white guy singing R&B swag.

He said, "I've never been a pop singer. I started out singing R&B." He also repeatedly said, "I'm the first White boy y'all F'ed with..." I'm thinking Jon didn't realize he was at a NASCAR event.

LOL
SISTERS WITH VOICES

Coko, Taj, and Lelee ( ) to' (tore...) it down! I mean when I tell you they actually sound ten times better than they did when they originally came out...They went all the way in!

The ladies voices were strong and fabulous! They rocked black and white all wearing variations of liquid leggings. Lele wore a peplum shirt and Coko was in white. Taj looked like she's been in the gym lately.

The ladies were absolutely great, and have not lost a step. I mean they hit ballad after ballad. Some old with the new. I will definitely get their new music! Bravo ladies!!! You did that! The ladies were so kind as to sing WEAK even though the powers that be shut the music down due to an approaching storm.

Coko said, naw...we are not leaving until we sing Weak for y'all. And I'm telling you!!! I felt like I was back in middle school!
