In a story posted on Charlotte Observer's website a little over a week ago, a message of integrity, compassion and manhood was revealed.  It all arose out of tragedy.

In 1997, Angela Ray was 7 and her father was murdered.  According to the article, Andrew Ray was working a job to help pay for Angela's brother's college tuition.  Detective McFadden investigated the crime and when he met little Angela he formed a bond.  He stood in the gap for her father.

Flash forward.  In the picture above, Detective McFadden, along with Angela's brother, gave her away on her wedding day.

Read the article by By Cleve R. Wootson, Jr. and Gary L. Wright.  "CMPD detective kept his promise to homicide victim's daughter."
