Pray for Lil Wayne

My younger sister and I were talking last night and she told me Lil Wayne was dying. I said, "Welp, you live fast, you die fast." I know it wasn't the sweetest thing to say.

I saw these messages pop up all over Twitter after rapper Lil Wayne allegedly fell gravely ill. The reports of the seriousness of his health condition are conflicting. TMZ said buddy was basically on life support. The claim is that he drank a deadly concoction of "lean". Lean is a combination of cough syrups, prescription drugs, anti freeze and alcohol according to MediaTakeOut.com.

Who knows? And why should we care? People will get ticked at this comment... but just yesterday I posted this message:

Today's Thought: How many times have you put God down, only to turn around and ask Him to pick you up?
I see these messages talking about "Pray for Lil Wayne". What are you asking people to pray for exactly? That he be healed? That he be delivered? That he come out and go back to rapping about what exactly? That he continues having babies all over the place and drinking lean until he ends up on a permanent cold slab?

I don't know Lil Wayne, I don't know his relationship with God. That's his business. Most certainly we should pray for everybody...those we like, those we love, and most importantly those we cannot stand. Wait...even more importantly we should pray for ourselves.

Everyone's talking about praying for Weezy...Everybody gets holy when life's greatest common denominator, death, comes around... IJS
So why do we wait until someone gets sick, near death or in trouble to pray? We pray to God to get us out of messes that our free will takes us into, but we don't pray to God to get us into what He would have us to do? How he would have us to live? Not my will, but Thy will be done.

Everyone knows I am super critical...mainly of myself, but of other people as well. I work on being more understanding, more loving, more forgiving. That is my particular stronghold...Many others have strongholds that they deal with in life. Maybe this bout with illness will help Wayne work through his strongholds?

Maybe through Wayne's ordeal someone else will be delivered from his strongholds. You can have compassion for Wayne, but it is better to learn something from him, not sympathize yourself into repeating what he does/has done.
