From a TIRED BLACK WOMAN: Thank you Bené Viera!

I wrote about Ms. Viera once before I believe.  And we were somewhat at odds, based on an Essence article discussing dumbing it down to date.

But this article right here:"Tired of Being a Spectacle", I couldn't have written better myself!  I want to pass a collection plate, and give Ms. Viera a love offering for speaking the truth about the frenzy surrounding the dating lives of Black women.

I cannot tell you how many times I have become sickened by the "Why are Black women single" and "Why can't your Black arse find a man, stop dating thugs, get a perm, dress like this, lose some weight, stop being bitter, fix me a plate...and on and on and on..." articles, news specials, books, and all that yackety yack!

As if Black women are the only single people on the planet... When, as Ms. Vierde so aptly puts it:
Yet, unlike Nightline's 2010 "Face Off: Why Can't a Successful Black Woman Find a Man?" special, no white celebrities were called for a panel discussion about the 45% of unmarried white women .
Again...no one is getting a talk show off of tackling that staggering statistic...

Anyway...again thank you Ms. Viera! Now if the rest of the world would just realize that Black women are not as bad off as the media and some very dramatic people try to make it seem...we'd be able to finally have some peace and joy! :)
