Doing Charlotte in Style
Charlotte Style Week kicked off at Butter in NC Music Factory. |
Friday Night
Okay, so I never go out. I mean I do events and such, but nothing wholly social. As luck would have it, I was quite social this weekend.

I started out with the wedding of a couple of pals I've met since moving to Charlotte. As a matter of fact, I featured the groom in #6 What he said, where he discussed their relationship. His new wife introduced us a couple of years ago after reading the interviews I do with guys on YBBG.
Their wedding was beautifully done in the Urban Garden of an upscale hotel in Uptown Charlotte. The food was extremely delicious, but the high light was synchronization of the wait staff. It was quite cute. Despite what the groom said, he did cry! ;) lol
Saturday Morning
I rose mad early on Saturday morning. I met my dad to deliver some contracts to him. I had breakfast with my daddy at one of my favorite spots... IHOP! Yup! We talked family, business, and church... So it was all cool. Thanks for the cinnastacks, Pop!
Saturday Afternoon
I met Nneka Saran at Vivian B. Boutique in NODA. You all read about that already. Let me tell y'all, I was tired already. Shoot... I don't go out remember. But the day was not over just yet.
Up next was the kick off to Charlotte Style Week: 25 Most Stylish Charlotte
This was the 4th annual presentation of the 25 Most Stylish people of Charlotte. Some ladies I know were among the elite. Jameka Whitten of JSW Media Group, with whom I do the BBS Confessions panels, and a natural hair stylista, Jessica Stanton of Revolution Ego Salon were on the list of the stylish people to watch. Also on the list was one Cameron Jerrell Newton of the Carolina Panthers, though he was not present at the event.
Sunday Morning
I received an invite to an exclusive event at Tiffany and Co. for Sunday morning breakfast. I attended last year with my pal and fellow blogger who was listed as one of the 25 Most Stylist for 2011. I met some interesting people while there including the editor of Charlotte Style Magazine, who coordinates this big event each year. Proceeds from this private shopping experience went to the Ronald McDonald House.

Sunday Morning
Breakfast at Tiffany's Southpark Mall |
It was a festive event with fantastic jewelry and delicious cuisine. I am still a little bitter about missing out on the cupcakes. They were wrapped in cute boxes that mimicked the signature Tiffany's boxes.
And no, I didn't buy anything...I need a sponsor for that. ;)
Sunday Afternoon
I already told you about the FMA Pamper Parlor in a Live Blog on yesterday. So I'll just post some pics:
Culinary artists doing their thing. |
LAMIK cosmetics were on deck at the event. |
I won a style visit to this salon after my tweets were selected by Style Mayvin T. Strong. |
Madame Jessica bought these earrings right off the designer's ears. |
