Have you seen Love Addiction on TVOne?

I had never heard of this show, Love Addiction, because I don't have good cable LOL.  But I learned of it yesterday.  This "relationship expert" Hasani Pettiford pulls interventions on people in toxic relationships.

It's crazy, because it looks like the show Intervention on A&E.  Do you think relationships can be addictive?

I don't agree with the title. I don't think "love" is the addiction... Because I define love differently than most people.  Love is always positive. It isn't possessive, isn't toxic, none of those things.  It is all those other things that can become that...such as lust, obsession, possessiveness...etc.  Those things in my opinion are toxic.

What say you? Do you feel love is addictive? How do you define love? Have you seen the show?

Unfortunately, there really is such thing as love addiction. Sufferers of this "disorder" can't control their feelings to the point that they become highly manipulative and controlling, and a lot more. They also tend to trade sex for love and attachment (that's why love addiction intertwined with sex addiction). Yes it's sad, but it's the reality.

I still don't think "love addiction" is the appropriate name. Euphoria addiction? Sex addiction? lust addiction? Yes. Love addiction? Not quite.

What they become bound by is the euphoric feeling of being with someone they like, of the highs and lows of hormonal release...

The ups and downs of the dramatics... But not love.
