Blackmediascoop.com reports that Brian Banks, the man falsely accused of raping Wanetta Gibson, is getting tryouts with a few NFL teams.  Read about his opportunity to fulfill his dreams here

As you know, Banks was a rising star in high school with a scholarship to USC when Wanetta Gibson accused him of raping her.  Banks served six year in prison and was forced to register as as ex offender upon his release.

But there is hope, when injustice visits you.  No one can deny that Banks suffered immeasurable harm because of a lie. If ever someone deserved another shot at his dream, it is Banks. And the NFL is giving him that opportunity.  Strangely, he will not be the first.

In an eerily similar case, Marcus Dixon was a rising star at Pepperell High School, and an A student, who was convicted of statutory rape and aggravated child molestation for taking the virginity of Kristie Brown.  Dixon's convictions in Georgia were overturned, and he went on to play football at Hampton University.  Dixon's case drew national outrage and, he and his accuser both appeared on Oprah to talk about it.

Dixon was given a shot at the NFL by the Dallas Cowboys in 2008, but now plays for the New York Jets. (Source: Wikipedia)
