I stopped by this little nail shop today, to get a quick manicure, while I waited on my pal for brunch. While there, I overheard a lady telling all her business to the very disinterested manicurists. Why do people do that? Seriously, the staff working on her mani/pedi had looks on their faces like "If this heiffa don't shut up and let me finish, I'm gonna yank her toenails off!"

Anyway, the gent who did my nails, suggested I try gel nails since they don't chip. The process was quite quick. He told me I had beautiful nail beds... LOL! Before the gel nails, I picked a coral colored nail polish.


Now, I had no plans on paying 25 bucks for a dang manicure...but I will try almost anything once.  He trimmed my cuticles without cutting me...and cut my jagged nails down. I picked a pink gel nail color. After three coats or more, and a tan under the UV lights I was done... no smearing, no chipping.

Although I like the speed and ease of the gel nail process, I don't know how I feel about the look. There is a huge gap between the nail bed and where the paint starts.  He said I would have to soak my nails in acetone remover to get it off, and I'm not fond of the thickness of the paint.
