Priscilla Dang kicks butt

The Huffington Post reports on the beat down given by Priscilla Dang to two teenage boys who could not keep their hands to themselves. Priscilla happens to  be a trained martial artist. Ha!

Maybe the fellas can explain to me what goes through the minds of  SOME youngins when they just reach out and grab women. It is not as though Priscilla Dang is the only woman this has happened to over time. In this case, it became a real life battle of the sexes, with Priscilla handing out the butt whooping.

I remember in middle school boys used to run around grabbing girls butts like it was a rite of passage. Then it gradually increased to strangers grabbing and pulling on women as they merely walked by.

In college I was out with my girls one night when a man grabbed me by my hips and began pulling me backward... Now what he did not realize was...I had no problem fighting (I know it was wrong of me...and stupid...but hey...we all have a past...) So I swung around, and gave him a two piece to the sternum.

Of course I high tailed it out of there before he could react. Apparently he thought there was nothing wrong with his approach. Surely many women before me had responded positively to that foolishness.

Then one night last year, I was walking to my car from my job. It was dark, but people are always meandering Uptown. So I did not feel unsafe.  A random guy grabbed my arm and would not let me go, asking what I was getting into that night and if I had a man.

I told the guy to let my arm go, and to learn how to talk to people without touching them. I tried to pull my arm away, and he just tightened his grip. So then my fight or flight instincts started kicking in... I told him one more time to let me go...as I prepared to beat him with my tote that had some serious heavy objects in it... LOL It didn't get that far because he let me go.

Sometimes even defending yourself can get dangerous, as happened when one teen pulled out a knife on Priscilla Dang. So it is hard to know what to do. People tell you to not fight back, but if you don't fight back, a simple unwanted touching could turn into a more violent act. So what do you do? Self-defense is extremely important in my opinion.

So where are these clowns learning this stuff? What makes a person feel they can just reach out and touch someone?
