For God so loved the world

It is the holiday season...and many people still feel like they have to go out and go broke, just to show how much they love someone.  You just don't have to do that.  Most folks will not remember a gift you gave them from this day to that one...especially when the gift has no meaning other than being the hottest thing out right now.

When I was little, my daddy used to always help out homeless people or just folks who may be down on their luck, or whose car broke down or just anything...virtual strangers.  I kinda picked up that behavior from him.  This morning I was at the radio station here, and then I had a meeting and some other things to do. I stopped by this Asian restaurant to get a to go tray of my usual bananas, broccoli and mushrooms, a couple pieces of General Tso's chicken or Sesame chicken or no meat at all...and some crab rangoon. (sorry for going on a tangent LOL).

As the lady rang me up, a guy came in and asked how much the buffet costs.  She told him and he asked how much that was with tax.  Then he stood there, contemplating...he walked out and told his lady friend and they both looked rather disappointed.

So I told them I would get it.  No I don't know their circumstances.  They may have a million dollars in the bank, and I surely don't...  But if someone is hungry...would you let them go hungry and walk away worrying about what they have and whether or not they were trying to get over on you?

I don't know their situation. As I walked by, I heard the lady tell the gentleman that it was a blessing. When I got in my car to leave, I just prayed that God would cover them, whatever the situation is...

I don't hold myself out as some saintly person. I will be the first to tell you that I have hurt some folks intentionally and unintentionally in my life.  However, I have always loved people and wanted to give love in whatever way I could.  Just think of the people you pass, who you could do something nice for...you may be the only nice person they ever encounter.  One small act of kindness can be major for someone who has never felt any at all.

I just feel like God puts us here as His arms and hands, feet and legs and there is work we can do that doesn't have to be scheduled or praised.  It just has to be done.
