Iraq War is over

Then President George W. Bush in 2003

President Obama pledged to end the war in Iraq.  Today the troops pulled out.  It has been a long time coming.  Over 4000 US troops dead. Thousands upon thousands dealing with PTSD and other mental health and physical health issues.  Multiple times that in innocent people destroyed.  All in a war that should have never happened.  Let's be honest about the thing.  Billions of dollars down the drain (probably close to a trillion).

This war started after September 11, 2001.  Then in 2003, George W. Bush stood in front of everyone and said, "Mission Accomplished!"  Yet the war just ended today.  I will not go into all of my views on the war and all of the foolishness that was the fall out of a jacked up strategy.

Nor will I intimate any conspiracy theories about why the war happened.  I will say, I wish it hadn't.  I hold a completely different view on the military altogether.  One of my best friends is now in the Middle East serving in the military.  It broke my heart when he told me he was going.  But he did what he felt he needed to do.

I pray for those who were affected by this war in all countries, of all faiths, of all backgrounds.  God be with them.
