DAY 11 DV AWARENESS: Take your time

The Supremes said it best "You can't hurry love...you just have to wait..."

Here's the thing. Most folks love love and want it in abundance. There are many who seek to find love at all cost.

To ease my mind

But mama said

If you believe that finding a romantic partner will solve all of your problems, you are sorely mistaken. As a matter of fact, wanting someone to rescue you from your problems may only compound them. Everyone coming in a cape ain't a super hero...villains wear capes too.

You got to trust, give it time

No matter how long it takes🎶

Love won't necessarily find you when you're the most hungry for it. Good love takes time to materialize. You know it takes some natural and spiritual forces working together to make that thang right! Jumping into it prematurely might mess you up.

I remember mama said: 

Let me tell you something...jumping into love immediately after you've experienced heartache will have you all jacked up. Your eyes will see attraction that isn't there. Your ears will hear words that haven't been spoken. Your mind will totally play tricks on you and once you awaken from your fog, you won't know what has happened.

Remember, just because you're yearning for love doesn't mean the person you run into is living the same life moving at the same pace. You may be chomping at the bit, and he or she may be moving nice and slow. You have to understand that love is a two party system, and the other party has just as much say in how things are going as you do.

If you cannot be happy by yourself, how do you expect someone to be happy with you? Trade that loneliness feeling in for some self reflection and self examination time. You don't want to meet your potential love as a whole hot mess. Pull yourself together and be ready so you don't have to get ready.

While you're preparing yourself, mentally, spiritually, physically and emotionally, trust that your potential love is somewhere doing the same. Good love is not a flash in the pan. Good love is seasoned, vested and mature. That everlasting kind of love takes some patience and endurance...so hold on and be ready.
